I just got hold of an Acer Aspire and I wanted to do some stress testing.

When I try to boot to the default, I get a kernel panic, referencing init. I tried to boot with noinitrd, and I got a kernel panic NFS and VFS errors.

This is an intel SU2700 on an Acer Aspire 5810TZ.

here's from vanilla boot:
pivot_root: No such file or directory
/sbin/init: 432: Cannot open dev/console: No such file
Kernl Panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

And here's from noinitrd
Root_NFS: No NFS server available, giving up.
VFS: Unable to mount root FS via NFS, trying floppy
VFS: Insert root floppy and press ENTER

loading memtest works okay.
please tell me which version of stresslinux did you try and which media (usb or cd)

Sorry about that! 0.3.1 on a CD Smile

What's the base distro for that? Am I correct in thinking that it would more be an issue with the base?
please download the newer build 0.5.111 which is the latest version, your error looks like a driver problem which is likely be fixed in the newer version.
